About Jason

Born and raised as a third generation Truckee local I am fully vested in the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee community. I offer unique local knowledge mixed with impeccable service learned from over a decade as a PGA Golf Professional. Growing up in Tahoe I have been fortunate enough to experience many of its luxuries and helping others enjoy a piece of those luxuries is rewarding and motivating.

After Graduating from Truckee High School I ventured off to Arizona State University to pursue my interest in the golf industry.   Four years later I was a certified Class A Golf Professional and had earned a B.S. in Agri-Business. ASU gave me a great taste of the city life but was too congested and hot for my Tahoe blood. I wanted nothing more than to move back to the mountains to ski and live the Tahoe Lifestyle, and that’s what I did.

Fresh out of college and eager to begin my career I worked my way into the 1st Assistant position at the Golf Club at Gray’s Crossing, which is owned by Tahoe Mountain Resorts. A Private Club at the time, Gray’s Crossing was exclusive and required the highest level of member service. My duties included management of the outside operations and caddie program. Managing over 25 employees taught me many things including how to work with different personalities and keep them motivated.

Working into my late 20’s as a Golf Professional left me to wonder what else was out there to see. I had done some short-term traveling after college but felt the urge to get away. I packed up and moved to Wanaka, New Zealand to experience their winter (our summer). I didn’t know anyone or have any employment connections. This uncertainty was one of the scariest feelings I have ever experienced. Four trips over the Pacific and five back-to-back winters later that uncertainty turned into friendship and experience. I have now been to New Zealand four times and have hundreds of Kiwi friends and professional connections. I hope to return to NZ soon

Although I was busy skiing and traveling, staying in touch with my professional Tahoe connections was a priority for mine.   After two winters coaching the ski team at Mammoth Mountain I was ready to return to Tahoe. Getting hired on to the Tahoe Mountain Resorts Real Estate Team was not only a perfect fit but also perfect timing.  Along with my girlfriend Drew, settling back down in Truckee allows me to say without any ambiguity, I am home.
